In the matter of one short evening, Jesus told his disciples that one of them would betray him, that another would deny him, and that they would all fall away. Then to top it all off, the whole crew feel asleep on him three times though he begged for their support in his deepest sorrow. All the while, the disciples professed undying allegiance.
Most Christians today would likely claim nothing could shake their faithfulness. So what is it, then, that led the disciples . . . and that can often lead us, to betraying, denying, and falling asleep on one we would call Master, King, and Friend?
