April is Mission's Focus Month for ICC missions opportunities. There are three opportunities that we will be emphasizing for this year's offering:
ICC is one of a group of 4 churches in Fort Collins who have adopted this impoverished village to transform the lives of the people there. Along with God’s Word, we have brought life-giving clean water into the center of the village, and added water points just steps from every home.
It is humbling to see how grateful these families are for access to water - something we so easily take for granted. Our project for 2017 is to acquire land for a school and build a classroom for the preschool children.
To see these precious children is to love them and desire to help them move out of poverty and hopelessness.
The cost of this project is $7000 per church. The funds are needed by May to allow the team going in June to be participate in the construction.
In the midst of a civil war, the people of South Sudan are experiencing widespread food insecurity with over 3 million people facing famine. However, there is a glimmer of hope in the village of Akot. Two schools serve 700 elementary students who are faithfully pursuing Jesus and education.
With 6 of the top ten scores on standardized tests, there are many students that are thriving and who desire to pursue further education so that they can help the people of their community and country.
Although the lower grades still meet in open-air huts, a 4-classroom building has been built on each of the sites. These will be used for the upper grades, pastor training, vocational training and adult education.
ICC has been asked to purchase and install a solar system for one of the schools, to provide power for lights, charging computers, printing tests, and pumping water from the well.
$8000 is needed by July to purchase the materials and have them shipped in for installation by the team going in November.
Nearly 2 million children are exploited in global commercial sex trade (UNICEF), which is endemic in Cambodia because of widespread poverty and the cultural view of women.
We are partnering with Agape International Missions, an organization that rescues girls who are enslaved by sex traffickers. They provide comprehensive care for young rescued girls at a safe residential facility that provides loving relationships and a healing program.
By there efforts countless little ones can grow whole and live victoriously.
The cost of this partnership is $3000 per year for 3 years. We hope to start this in the Fall.

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’"
- Matthew 28:18-20
Here at Immanuel, we want to make sure that we fulfill this call from Jesus. As a result we have established relationships with people around the nation and world in an attempt to preach the gospel, make disciples, and plant churches.
We have a responsibility to reach our own community of Fort Collins, Colorado with the gospel. Throughout the year we put on many events to reach people outside of our church and serve our city. There is always something going on in Fort Collins, so there are many opportunities make an impact.
For many years, our goal has been to build strong relationships in order to encourage and support believers in the village of Los Angeles in the mountains of Peru. Our efforts have been centered around going door to door and building relationships and putting on Bible studies for the small community in the Andes mountains. Through our support, there is now a group of Peruvians visiting Los Angeles regularly, meeting with the villagers and spreading the Gospel of Christ.
In partnership with other local churches in Fort collins and Loveland, Immanuel has adopted San Miguel in Guatemala to work towards a Total Village Transformation. We work through Hope of Life and World Help to come alongside the beautiful people of this village to bring clean water, build and improve their school and church facilities, provide medical assistance, and share the good news of the gospel found in Jesus Christ.
We have partnered with this small community on the Southwest coast of the English Channel in an effort to share the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ with their people. These trips focus heavily on street evangelism and building strong relationships.
We have built relationships with people in South Sudan over the last several years in an attempt to reach people, particularly young people, with the gospel of Christ through sports camps and community involvement. Unfortunately, due to the political unrest present in the nation, we have not been able to safely visit for some time. We hope to visit again as soon as we can do so safely.
When catastrophe strikes Immanuel has a passion for responding immediately to take aid and encouragement. Over the last decade, we have been involved in relief work for many natural disasters. We realize that our own nation needs the gospel just as much as the rest of the world, so we go with truth first and follow that with our actions.
